Riverside Community Member Awarded: Ron Rice Receives 2022 Mayor’s Community Service Award

Rebuilding Together Indianapolis is proud to acknowledge the achievements of Near North West area community builder, Ron Rice. He has been recognized as a recipient of the 2022 Mayor’s Community Service Award.

This award recognizes those who volunteer their time and talents toward the betterment of Indianapolis and those who call it home. Ron was nominated for the categories of Elderly, Neighborhoods, Youth, and Arts.

“We cannot say enough great things about Ron Rice,” said Ryan Taylor, current board president of Rebuilding Together Indianapolis. “Rebuilding Together Indianapolis helps homeowners who are struggling to make much needed repairs to their homes, and Ron has been essential to helping us deliver on our mission in the Riverside community. He has served as our advocate and guide, helping us connect with neighbors in need. Without Ron, we would not have been able to complete work on more than 20 homes in the Riverside community.”

Ron, along with the other nine recipients, will have their names engraved on individual bricks that will then be added to the Mayor’s Volunteer Plaza along the downtown canal.
