Letter from the President
What a wonderful year of accomplishments it has been for Rebuilding Together Indianapolis! We have been hard at work engaging new board members and recruiting even more to lead the cause in 2018. Long time board member Bill Davis graciously stepped into the Executive Director’s role and replaced the “difficult shoes to fill” of Vicki Perkins who for years tirelessly worked to uphold our mission of delivering a sustainable impact on every home and life that we touched.
The Rebuilding Together Indianapolis Board of Directors updated our strategic plan to include four primary objectives:
Further defining roles and responsibilities of our board, staff and committees.
Upgrading our branding and messaging strategy in the community further supporting our mission, partners and volunteers.
Diversifying our funding strategy to enhance the opportunity to help those in our community in need.
Reinventing our Spring Community Rebuild Day to provide a better experience for our partners and volunteers.
Through all of this transition we continued to provide several successful community events including a Spring Rebuild day in the Haughville neighborhood completing nine home improvement projects and community project at the Christamore House. In addition, we raised public gardens next to the Haughville CDC. The Spring Rebuild was supported by many sponsors including our neighborhood sponsor IPL and skilled labor provided by the Indiana Union Construction Industry. Additional activities included a Veterans Day major improvement home project sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, a Colt’s sponsored playground project marking the 10th year of this effort, and a new home improvement project with Spectrum as the signature partner.
Rebuilding Together Indianapolis is positioned and eager to create an even greater impact on the heart of our community – our neighborhoods - in 2018 in making every home safe and healthy for home owners in need.
