Rebuilding Together Partner Highlight - Indianapolis Power & Light

For more than 13 years, Rebuilding Together Indianapolis and IPL have worked alongside one another to improve Indianapolis neighborhoods. Greg Fennig, Vice President of Public Affairs for IPL and Rebuilding Together Past President shares that Rebuilding Together greatly aligns with IPL’s community outreach vision. “Rebuilding Together is the best at organizing volunteers to help those most in need remain in their homes. They really are building the backbone of strong Indianapolis neighborhoods”, Fennig stated.

IPL has a long history of commitment to strengthening neighborhoods and was an early supporter of Rebuilding Together Indianapolis. “Through research with IPL personnel, we know there is a pride in positively contributing to our role in the community through partners like Rebuilding Together Indianapolis. The link is displayed in over 30,000 hours of community service annually by over 700 IPL employees. Organizations like Rebuilding Together Indianapolis provides us a great opportunity to directly interface with our customers while strengthening our community at the same time.”

“Rebuilding Together provides a perfect opportunity for a diverse group of IPL staff to work together building team values and getting to know one other better.”, Fennig said. “When our team works together to improve the community we all love, we all benefit.” He added, “One of my fondest Rebuilding Together Indianapolis memories was returning to a home one year to retrieve a forgotten item and finding a home full of neighbors as the home owner, beaming with pride, shared the home improvements we provided. That homeowner pride is the reason Rebuilding Together Indianapolis is so important.”
